Taking the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone by networking with fellow photographers and vendors can lead to such exciting and beautiful opportunities. I did the QAB bridal show in Quincy this past winter and happened across a stunning new venue in our area, The Barn at Fairview Acres, located is Biggsville, Illinois. I was able to introduce myself to Cristy and Lindsey, representatives of the venue, and we eventually hatched a plan.
A couple of months after our initial meeting, we decided to do a unique shoot for the venue’s marketing materials. Although the barn wasn’t technically finished, the ethereal lighting and bright airy environment illustrated the beauty and character that the space naturally projects.
After reaching out to other local vendors, we ended up with an amazing model who also happens to be an incredibly talented makeup artist, a fantastic hairstylist, and a gorgeous fresh bouquet of flowers. Spending the evening with this fun group of boss ladies resulted in some seriously beautiful shots.

A peek at the inside of their grooms silo, yes the groom and groomsmen get a whole silo to themselves furnished with an arcade game and furniture!
Any photographer that gets to shoot events here will just die for all of this amazing natural light!
Shout out to Cassidy for being our bride! Fun fact, she will actually be getting married at the barn next July!
